Monoglycerides Distillation Equipment

Molecular distillation technology significantly enhances monoglyceride content to reach food grade. It operates on the principle of differing molecular free paths among molecules. In a liquid state, molecules are bound by strong forces but can transition to a gaseous state when provided with sufficient energy. The molecular free path represents the distance a molecule travels without colliding with others after escaping the liquid surface.

By positioning the condensation surface between the average free path of heavy and light molecules, light molecules condense fractionally, while heavy molecules return to the liquid surface through collisions, achieving efficient mixture separation. Molecular distillation boasts advantages such as low distillation temperature, minimal pressure drop, short heating duration, and high separation efficiency—ideal for isolating high molecular weight, high boiling point, and heat-sensitive substances, exemplified by monoglycerides.

Description

DMG Production with Cutting-Edge Short Path Molecular Distillation Equipment

Distilled Monoglyceride (DMG), or Distilled Glycerol Monostearate, is derived from an esterification reaction involving C16-C18 long-chain fatty acids and glycerine. It undergoes further refinement via multi-stage molecular distillation equipment.

Another production method involves esterifying refined hydrogenated palm oil with premium glycerol, followed by concentration through multi-stage molecular distillation equipment.

Molecularly Distilled Monostearic Fatty Acid Glycerides, commonly known as monoglycerides (MG), are pristine white powder or small cylindrical solids, boasting a purity exceeding 90%.

Short Path Molecular Distillation (SPMD) is currently the only industralized and effective separation process, which basically comprises two processes, removal of light components and evaporation of monoglycerides.
