Pervaporation Membrane Dehydration Technology

Pervaporation membrane is a layer of uniform molecular sieve crystal synthesized on a ceramic carrier. Molecular sieve has regular pore structure, which utilize the principle of screening for the separation of substances of different molecular size.

NaA molecular sieve membrane is a kind of membrane which can separate organic solvent and water with 0.41 nm pore structure, which is bigger than the kinetic diameter of water molecules of 0.29 nm and smaller than the molecular diameter of most organic compounds.

At the same time, the high aluminum content in the molecular sieve skeleton (Si/Al=1) makes it extremely hydrophilic, and capable to complete selective adsorption of the water in the solvent, which pass through the membrane on both sides of the water vapor by differential pressure, so that the water in the organic solvent is removed.  

Pervaporation membrane separation technology is a new type of membrane separation technology, it can achieve the separation task at relatively low energy consumption, while traditional process of distillation, extraction, adsorption and other are difficult to achieve, it is especially suitable for the compound of nearly boiling point, constant boiling point mixtures, isomers, and poor thermal stability chemical compounds.

Pervaporation membrane technology has distinct advantages in the removal of trace water in organic solvents and mixed solvents as well as the separation of a small amount of organic pollutants in wastewater. The technology has been widely used in many industrial production fields such as petroleum, chemical industry, medicine, environmental protection and so on,
