Hot melt-type winterization filter belongs to plate and frame filter, which is mainly composed of head plate, stern plate, alternately arranged plates and frames, crossbeam, compression device, oil trough, cake trough, etc. The working principle is that oil enters from the middle oil inlet hole by pressure and flows out from the outlet on the filter cloth, and the cake stays in the chamber formed between plates. After the filtration complete and introduce to turn on the hot water inlet valve to heat and melt the wax (stearin) cake, after exhausting the wax (stearin), shut off the hot water valve, turn on the cold water valve to cool down the filter, and then start the next cycle of filtration.

Can the fish oil contact parts of the equipment be made from sanitary-grade stainless steel? How can it meet the hygiene requirements for food and pharmaceutical applications?
The external framework of the complete set of equipment is made of carbon steel. However, all the parts that come into contact with oil—such as the inlet pipe, outlet pipe, oil drainage pipe, and the filter plate frame—are constructed from sanitary-grade stainless steel, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.
What's the principle of filtration in the machine?
- Thermal discharging type winterization filter, the stearin discharge process does not need to dismantle the plate frame and filter cloth of filter for cleaning, but adopts hot water to circulate into the coil pipe in the plate frame, so that the crystallized wax or stearin can be discharged after heating and melting, which prevents the damage caused by dismantling and assemblying the machine for many times.
- The main structure of the equipment consists of a frame and a series of filter plates overlapped along the frame, in which the oil filter plates are arranged in a continuous manner at intervals from each other, and a filter cloth is press-fitted between the plates, which is used to separate the crystallized wax or hard stearin from the liquid oil.
- Hot water flows through the coil without contacting the oil or ester. The inlet pipe is made between plates and frames, only the filter cloth contacts the oil and stearin to retain the wax and stearin, and the liquid oil flows out from the discharge pipe.
- when the flow of the oil outlet pipe is reduced, close the valve of oil inlet pipe, and open the hot water pipe, the hot water is heated through the coil to melt the wax and stearin, naturally the wax and stearin slowly flow down from the top of the filter cloth, and flow out through the discharge pipe of ester.
- When the flow of the stearin discharge pipe decreases, close the hot water pipe, and open the blowing pipe, the residual hard stearin above the filter cloth is flushed down cleanly, and then you can open the oil inlet pipe to continue the next filtration process.
How can we operate the machine to ensure that the dewaxing process does not expose the oil to the air? We also need to recover the hard stearin.
We offer a customized enclosed oil trough for the recovery of hard stearin. This design ensures that both the oil and the hard stearin do not come into contact with the air throughout the dewaxing process.
How is hard stearin recovered from the filter cloth? The stearin on the filter cloth can be sticky.
After the oil crystallizes, it flows into the winterization filtration equipment under certain temperature. Once the filter cloth is filled with hard stearin and the pressure reaches a certain level, the cleaning process can commence. Hot water can be used to melt the hard stearin, which is then expelled through the drainage pipe. Customized enclosed oil troughs and wastes troughs can be provided to enable minimum contact to air and recovery of hard stearin.
When liquid stearin in plate frame is drained completely, close the hot water valve, and lead in cooling water to maintain the required working temperature.

How difficult is it to clean and maintain the equipment?
Cleaning does not require manual intervention. When the filtering performance diminishes after a certain period of use, the entire filter cloth needs to be replaced. Simply loosen the securing bolts, remove the old cloth, and replace it with a new one.

How frequently does the equipment need maintenance?
The frequency of maintenance depends on your usage rate and the quality of the materials processed. Some clients only need to replace the filter cloth once a year.
In this filteration system, can we use filteration earth or not? Stearin can stick to filteration cloth?
We can’t put filter aid in this equipment because it doesn’t need to be shoveled manually, it is passed through hot water to melt and drain the ester. If the filter aid is applied, the hard ester pipeline will not be able to transport it.
what is the working pressure of the equipment?
Complete unit is designed to work under pressure ≤0.2MPa.
How to select proper size for our production line?
The equipment capacity is specially designed according to stearin content in the feed oil, filtration temperature, crystallization conditions, etc. It is compele assembly unit customized according to winterization process working requirements. The filtration area can be designed according to the production requirements, from 50 square meters to 300 square meters.
What is your delivery period?
The machine is tailer made to order, which takes normally about 35-50 days on complete production and assembly and testing.

The Thermal Melt Type Winterization Filtration Equipment adopts a similar framework to plate-and-frame pressure filter machines. The main difference lies in the incorporation of hot water circulating snake pipes within the filter frame, adding a layer of temperature-controlled functionality.
Frame & Filter Plates: The heart of the filtration system consists of a frame and a series of overlapping filter plates. These plates alternate between oil and wax filtration functionalities.
Filter Cloth: Positioned between the filter plates, the filter cloth plays a crucial role in separating crystallized wax or stearin from the liquid oil.
Core Components: The equipment is fundamentally made up of the frame, filtration devices, oil or wax discharge mechanisms, and a comprehensive piping system.

Operational Process:
Initial Filtration: Under a pressure difference, liquid oil passes through the filter cloth and flows out from the oil outlet, while wax (or solid stearin) are retained within the filter frame.
Wax Discharge: Once the filtering pressure reaches a predetermined level, the feed is stopped and temperature-regulated hot water is introduced to melt the solids captured in the filter frame.
Wax Removal: Open the filter frame outlet to discharge all the melted wax (or solid stearin).
Temperature Reset: Cold water is introduced into the heating pipes within the filter frame to bring the equipment back to the required operating temperature.
